What to do in Rome during the day in summer
As we all know, Rome is packed full of interesting landmarks and historical sites in every corner of the city. All the same, during the summer we would recommend visiting indoor exhibitions and museums, to combine a cultural holiday with the much-needed coolness of air-conditioning. If you do decide to explore the outdoor sites, don’t forget to stock up on cool drinking water.
Titian: Dialogues of Nature and Love (Galleria Borghese)
Among the indoor events, we recommend this exhibition dedicated to the works of Titian, at Galleria Borghese from the 14th of June until the 18th of September 2022. Admire the Venetian painter’s masterpieces dedicated to the themes of nature, love and time, set out in harmonies of soft and delicate colours. If you have time, don’t miss the full tour of the Galleria Borghese Museum and enjoy a stroll through the gardens of the beautiful villa.
CRAZY: Madness in Contemporary Art (Cloister of Bramante)
Open since the 19th of February, the exhibition CRAZY: Madness in Contemporary Artwill remain in Rome until January 2023. It is an amazing creative process put together by 21 international artists who have brought their works of contemporary art to the 16th century Cloister of Bramante. If you are in Rome during this period, we strongly suggest a visit, open daily from 10am until 8pm (Saturday and Sunday until 9pm).
The World of Banksy (Roma Tiburtina Station)
The famous traveling exhibition will be held in the capital between the 28th of June and 27th of November. The Galleria Commerciale at Roma Tiburtina station will host the works by the British artist, known for his production of graffiti with a strong social impact. The exhibition retraces the artist’s most famous pieces and tells the story and the ideas behind each work of art.
